You must have been at a different gig to me then if you thought Spear got a lukewarm reception they have got more stage prescence than nma and the nma fans seemed to accept this due to the "lukewarm" reception that they gave their own band by talking through most of the encores.

I must admit that I only caught the back end of S.o.D.’s set – and forgot to mention this in the review - so it is possible that I missed all the fun. My judgment was basically made on the lack of movement from the half-full dancefloor during the climax of the set which is usually a pretty good indicator. Yes, some people were dancing and there was a round of applause afterwards but in my opinion it was still a lukewarm reception. Not a bad one, not a great one but somewhere in between.
Feel free to post a review if you know, and care, more about the band and their set than me.

Spear of Destiny are a great band, and their new album Loadestone is one of their best. Worth seeking out.
